Disputes

Appeals and judicial review

If a court decision has gone against you, or a public body has made a decision affecting your rights, you may be able to challenge it. Strict time limits apply, so early advice is essential.

Appeals

We advise on the merits of an appeal and act in appeals to the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court. Strict time limits apply to filing an appeal, and some appeals require the leave (permission) of the court.

Judicial review

Judicial review allows the High Court to examine whether a public body has acted lawfully, rationally and fairly. An application requires the leave of the court and must be made within strict time limits.
